Over time, cluttered hallways don’t just slow down staff movement. They can also put a facility at risk of falling out of line with established standards. One of the key concerns tied to hallway storage is maintaining compliance with Joint Commission (JCAHO) requirements. Beds left in corridors can obstruct access, block emergency routes, and limit visibility, which runs counter to expectations around environmental safety and organization.
